Earnest mission

Our mission is to share sustainability love beyond the material, the design, the product itself. We want to enliven our forests, help reduce waste, excite others and show them that they can initiate positive changes with every decision made.

We’ve partnered with One Tree Planted, and for each collection item you purchase a tree will be planted. Get NEWD and grow a forest with us!

Passionate philosophy

Anyone can live the life they want while still putting as small of a carbon footprint on this planet as possible. So, at Newd Elements, we strive to use as many reclaimed, recycled, non-toxic and organic materials as possible. We want to design more, waste less and live life to its fullest. And we hope your smiling souls will join us on this journey!

Educate & Share

There is so much sustainability knowledge out there to learn and we want to share it with you! From eco-alternatives for your favorite pair of sneakers or jeans, to simple swaps for DIY cleaning supplies, to new eco-friendly materials being created all around the world, get it in our newsletter.

Carbon-neutral shipping

We chose UPS because they offer of a carbon neutral shipment option. They do this by supporting projects that offset the emissions of the shipment's transport - projects that include reforestation, landfill gas destruction, wastewater treatment, and methane destruction. This carbon neutral option has been verified by Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS), an inspection, testing, and verification company. Additionally, their carbon offset process is certified by The CarbonNeutral Company.

Due to package size, we sometimes use USPS and plant an extra tree for these smaller shipped boxes.

Meet the Founder + Designer

Hello! Rachel here. When I was younger, you would always find me with a pencil in hand, drawing my heart’s desires. Nowadays, it’s much more than what’s on a piece of paper, even though I still love the tried-and-true pencil and paper for sketching! (I received my B.A. in Industrial Arts, with an emphasis on Design and Development). My early career years landed me in furniture design in a corporate brand, where I quickly learned that the lifestyle wasn’t going to last for me.

The concept of Newd Elements came from my aspirations to merge [both] design and sustainability. I wanted to offer modern, minimal, thoughtfully-designed products for every day living, all while producing as small of a carbon footprint as possible. As a self-proclaimed “nerd,” I love learning about new sustainable materials, reading related statistics, and adding to my never-ending list of bio-conscious projects. My ultimate intentions are to spread the “sustainability love” through cleverly designed products, education, and living by example. Because, in the end, we need the Earth more than it needs us.

We have diverted 20,000 corks from going to the landfill and have used them in our planters and vessels!

Our daypacks, totes, dopp kits, serviettes and more have helped divert some of the 15M TONS of post-consumer textile waste that heads to the landfill each year, in the US alone. By doing this, we are preventing additional CO2 from entering the atmosphere from new textiles not being produced.
